edward_enninful “Before the pandemic, my job was not really that big a deal, but now it’s like we’re important. It’s nice,” says Anisa Omar (@anxsaaaa), a 21-year-old supermarket assistant working in London’s King’s Cross. For the July 2020 issue of @BritishVogue, photographer @Jamie.Hawkesworth captured a series of powerful portraits of the people who have shown resilience in the face of crisis. Discover the full portfolio – and the moving shared experience that united those from so many walks of life, interviewed by British Vogue’s Features Editor @OEMarks – in the new issue, on newsstands and available for digital download Friday 5 June.

edward_enninful If you had told me at the beginning of the year that @BritishVogue’s July cover stars would feature a community midwife, a train driver and supermarket worker, I might not have believed you. But, as our nation perseveres against Covid-19, we find ourselves leaning not on the powers that be, but on ordinary people and their extraordinary strength and kindness. For the July 2020 issue, over 10 days, photographer @Jamie.Hawkesworth carefully crossed the capital to capture the faces of those whose bravery has helped so many. Meet Rachel Millar (@rachelmillar), a community midwife in east London, and a host of other inspiring workers in the new issue, on newsstands and available for digital download Friday 5 June.

edward_enninful I’m incredibly grateful and proud to present the first of three covers for the July 2020 issue of @BritishVogue, photographed by @Jamie.Hawkesworth. Featuring female front-line workers – including Narguis Horsford, a train driver on the London Overground – these are the people chosen to represent the millions of others who, at the height of the pandemic, put on their uniforms and work clothes and went to help people. See the full portfolio of the faces we are celebrating in the new issue, on newsstands and available for digital download Friday 5 June.

edward_enninful These past few days I’ve gone between rage and sadness and fear. What these racist acts we’ve been confronted with reveal, among many other things, is that we have a lot more work to do. Anybody who thinks we’re there, that we have created a society where everyone is equal – well, they’re wrong. Racism is a global issue. Racism is a British issue. It is not one that is merely confined to the United States – it is everywhere, and it is systemic. Click the link in bio for my essay on @BritishVogue detailing why an anti-racist agenda is the only way forward. #AntiRacism Photographed by @MisanHarriman.

edward_enninful Racism is a global issue and racial justice is a global goal. As protests around the world call time on inequality in the wake of the death of 46-year-old African-American George Floyd, who died in custody after an officer from the Minneapolis Police Department stood on his neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds, there can be no better time to educate ourselves on the topic of systemic racism. We are part of a collective responsibility not just to stamp out racism, but to be resolutely anti-racist. #AntiRacism ❤️

edward_enninful In the midst of uncertainty, we’ve discovered new ways to enjoy the power of fashion. The joy of dressing up - physically, or in our imaginations - offers pure escapism. I'm always energised by an uplifting floral, or the divine reliability of the little back dress: faithful, beautiful and anything but basic when tweaked for now. In the June 2020 issue of @BritishVogue Paolo Roversi takes you into a world of enchanting eccentricity, courtesy of the season’s most mystical looks. See the full story in the new issue, on newsstands and available for FREE digital download now. LINK IN BIO. @Tess_McMillan photographed by Paolo @Roversi and styled by @PoppyKain

edward_enninful I’m so pleased to join actor @RussellTovey and gallerist @RobertDiament on this week’s @TalkArt podcast to talk about all things art and how it has the power to connect us in such fantastic ways – especially as we all adjust to lockdown.
